Original oil on recycled wood. 43cm X 48cm. I made this piece for a show at The Beaney in Canterbury. It was inspired by a documentary about a scout who goes to remote parts of Siberia looking for girls who have the potential to become fashion models. I had various fashion magazines lying around, and got into re-interpreting the images from a fine art perspective. Often fashion images have very good composition or colour pallets, so I like to strip away the commercial side of what they are doing and just use the photos as a starting point for sketches or studies or faces.
